Praise

  • I love the Aline's world, and this game took me back to it. I really enjoyed the environments and gameplay overall in this game. I read some people having some bugs with it, but I didn't run into any of them. I played most of it alone and feel like the robots have improved quite a bit from the 1st game. It builds up from the 1st and takes it one or even two levels up. Animation feels better, and having a 4th player makes it even more interesting, being able to fight against bigger xeno's waves.

Criticism

  • The hate this game is getting is a crime. This is by far the best squads based sci-fi Alien shooter of the modern generation fallout has the same dialogue animations and they are considered a masterpiece. Yes there's glitches in the game IT JUST CAME OUT what game since 2020 truly been released as a finished product? Countless updates later then its finished same thing with this a couple updates and fixes and this game is literally on par to be with Doom Eternal

Mixed

  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is okay, but somehow not as good as its far more polished predecessor: it just looks, sounds, and performs worse. It’s almost baffling, as if the two games were somehow released in the wrong order. The gameplay is basically unchanged, though, and that might be enough if you’re just looking for more of the same. For everyone else, though, I’d recommend booting up the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite and — if you haven’t done so already — buying the Pathogen expansion instead.
  • The campaign is very boring. Not interesting story-wise, overly repetitive with the same task and missions, the a.i. is not very interesting or smart and the enemy variety isn't that exciting. The gameplay itself though is decent fun. Had an enjoyable enough time playing with friends. I do wish there was a bit of variety in weapons between class though. Horde mode is only a lot funner compared to the campaign. If you have people to play with, this is a decent time

Praise

  • Your opinion of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will largely depend on whether you've played the first game. Newcomers will find a straightforward co-op shooter that captures the spirit of Aliens, albeit with technical issues, repetitive combat, and little reason to continue after the campaign unless they're completionists or simply love blasting xenomorphs. For returning players, the fourth fireteam slot is welcome, but it doesn't make up for the lack of meaningful changes elsewhere. After five years, Fireteam Elite 2 feels more like an expanded version of its predecessor than a true sequel. It's not a bad game, but more substantial gameplay changes, technical fixes, and a sale would make it much easier to recommend.
  • There’s a fun game in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 for sure; just don’t expect much in the way of originality.
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is the sequel we would have liked to play five years ago: more complete, more flexible in its class system and finally enjoyable even when the bots have to fill the empty seats. Cold Iron fixes a lot, but still relies too heavily on corridors, terminals and repeated swarms to carry a campaign that deserved more variety. The Xenomorphs still do their job, especially with a full squad. Unfortunately, some old habits survived with them.

Criticism

  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 offers plenty of replayability through its progression systems, classes, weapons, upgrades, and modifiers, but fails to keep me engaged. While its shallow story, sometimes predictable enemies, limited mission design, poor AI, technical issues, and dull environments hold it back, the game still offers plenty of potential. With the right updates, I might return once the developer has had time to smooth out its rough edges.
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 expands on its predecessor with engaging co-op action, focusing on intense xenomorph horde combat rather than horror. The game features a robust build system, encouraging diverse class and weapon use, and a dynamic difficulty that scales with player skill and teamwork. While the core gameplay is fun and the progression system is well-implemented, the high price point, repetitive mission objectives, and performance issues on common hardware are significant drawbacks. Matchmaking can also be frustrating due to specific player requirements.
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 improves on its predecessor with better visuals and a handful of welcome refinements. However, many of the same shortcomings remain, while poor optimization and the lack of Korean localization make it difficult to fully recommend.
