Praise
- the game is good retaining the essence of the originals but for the price point its too high and I do not believe it deserves over a 7 in score due to that
- Those beautiful old games. And those old days. Will a game like Metal Gear Solid ever come along again? I wish it would.
- MGS 4 is the greatest game of all time and to play it on flawless 4k 60 fps makes it 11/10. Thank you Konami for this excellent collection and freeing MGS 4 from PS3. The graphics still hold up to this day, music is nothing sort of legendary and amazing boss fights. The best part is the story. Never felt emotion and weight like this game has made me feel.
Criticism
- Hideo Kojima added a lot of things to this stealth game, chase sequences, fighting, but the one thing he forgot to add was stealth. Kojima is undoubtedly a narcissist; he is so full of himself that he actually believes his own excrement is a delicacy fit to be served on a dinner table. No one understands why he designs games this way, but Konami definitely did, which is exactly why they fired him. He absolutely deserved it. Kojima will never be allowed to touch this franchise again for the rest of his life. I'm sure he's thrilled about it, and honestly, so am I.

- Altogether this collection is all about that MGS4 golden goose, but all the additions make it worthwhile, even if there’s an uneven level of attention given to non-Guns of the Patriots content. Still nab it as it’s priced pleasantly enough, but grab it with the intent of playing MGS4 and see the rest of the collection as a bunch of generous extras.
- Bringing two major Metal Gear games to the present day, especially freeing MGS4 from being confined to a single console, is fantastic. Now you can play the entire series from start to finish on modern platforms and bid it a heartfelt farewell. Even just for MGS4, it's a package worth buying; I think it's worth taking advantage of this opportunity.
- Despite a light content line-up, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is worth purchasing for one reason alone: Metal Gear Solid 4 is no longer trapped on the PlayStation 3.
