Experience a new chapter in the legendary horror series like never before. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival takes first-person action horror survival to the next level. Play the story of Aidan, who must use the power of a mysterious puzzle box – the Genesis Configuration – to help his girlfriend Sunny's escape from the otherworldly hellscape of the Labyrinth. Wield the powers of the box to survive your bargain with the infamous Pinhead and do battle with the horrific cult devoted to the Cenobites. A New Story in Hellraiser's Canon – Unwittingly kickstart Pinhead’s ritual to unleash greater pain and pleasure than ever before. Harness the Power of the Box – Combine the unique, hellish abilities of the Configuration with an arsenal of earthly weapons to inflict bone-breaking, flesh-searing pain - or is it pleasure? - upon masochistic enemies. Fight Against Unholy Enemies – Take on hell's wretches, deviants, cultists, and even its most infernal priests in a story-driven horror survival game.

- PROS: -gore -story -vibe: Christmas for a Hellraiser, horror fan (as I am) -environment -boss fights -prize / value ratio CONS: -could have been more ability andout of the configuration and skill tree -action could have been improved I can’t wait for a new Hellraiser game which improved on some areas. Hopefully it sells great.
- Finalmente um jogo digno da saga Hellraiser, pesado, grotesco e bom demais!!!
Criticism
- Game is super repetitive, same character appear in nearly ervery situation, gunplay feels chunky, if ur not a die hard fan of the series, just play resident evil
- Better than a lot of games lately in a lot of ways, but some of the design and clunkiness starts revealing itself towards the end. Boss fights can be infuriating even on easy, and the final boss in particular is impossible to beat if you run out of ammo and not enough ammo is given. Incredibly frustrating when the game is solid in many other ways.
- Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a disturbing & surprisingly entertaining horror experience with a unique visual identity & a brutally twisted atmosphere. Its grotesque creature designs, creative levels, puzzle-solving & supernatural abilities make the roughly 12-hour journey definitely worth it. However, simplistic melee combat, repetitive enemies & some frustrating boss encounters hold it back. While it borrows plenty of ideas from other survival horror games, it combines them into a memorable, unapologetically disturbing adventure. For its €40 price tag, for me it’s an easy recommendation for horror fans (with a strong stomach).

Praise
- The strength of Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival lies in its refusal to apologize for the carnal violence and discomfort it puts on display. Even as the gameplay struggles to balance survival horror with action, the compelling narrative and relentless art direction smooth over its rough edges, proving that the pain and pleasure of Barker's creation remain just as fascinating in video games.
- Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival delivers an entertaining yet somewhat generic survival horror experience, borrowing familiar mechanics from other games in the genre without adding much depth or innovation. While its premise is intriguing, the narrative relies too heavily on shock value rather than fully exploring its potential. The result is an enjoyable but ultimately forgettable horror adventure that falls short of its ambitions.
- Ultimately, if you’re a fan of the franchise, this is a great entry into the series lore, and a horror experience you’ll find lots in to enjoy, but you’ll need to be willing to look past it’s inconsistent pacing and spotty gameplay experience. If you’re not a huge Hellraiser fan, then it might be that bit harder for you to push through, but it’s by no means a bad game – just one that, perhaps fittingly, offers some pain with its pleasure.
Criticism
- Clive Barker’s Hellraiser Revival is a frustrating experience, as for every one thing it does really well, it does two things that will annoy the life out of you. Part of me was willing to see past the jank, as you have a pretty niche horror title coming to life in a new medium, and I certainly respect it for giving it a go. However, too often its design choices would irritate me, hold me back from progressing, or just straight up make me not want to play. While it’s got little sparks of something special in there, Hellraiser: Revival is more pain than pleasure.
