Gears of War: E-Day
Experience the brutal horror of Emergence Day through the eyes of Marcus Fenix in the origin story of one of gaming's most acclaimed sagas. Fourteen years before Gears of War, war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself. Built from the ground up with Unreal Engine 5, Gears of War: E-Day delivers unprecedented graphical fidelity.

- E-Day brings the joy I use to have playing my Xbox 360. Graphics are insane, Sound is incredible, Gameplay is FREAKING AWESOME. Story is Great but I didn't like the direction they went with one of the characters. Hint: Mags For that I knock it one point. If I could do 9.5 I would. This is a Must Play Game!!!!
- Die Story ist sehr gut erzählt und wird fantastisch inszeniert. Die Grafik ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Der Horde Modus macht richtig Spaß und bietet einiges an Abwechslung
Criticism
- What did I waste my money on? This not like the older games at all. Why they keep hurting the games with unnecessary ideology. I will be refund this game. Game direction is in the bad way to make money.
- I think the game it self was okay just it felt like it was very long story didn’t really click as well! Gameplay just seemed clear area nothing we haven’t done before first three games told story this entry just felt that it was prob closure as I can’t see where this goes from here the villain as well seemed poor it felt a task to complete the game because it was prob 4 hours to long
Mixed
- The game is the best i've seen from Gears of War since Gears 2. Graphics and performance are incredible on Series X and quite good enough on Series S. Gameplay is excellent and modernized, the story is good, not great, but good, closes a good circle. XBOX needs to release more games like this. Only downside: I think they should leave anything related to gender ideologies out as they have nothing to do with videogames. Anything that has to do with gender, sex orientation, real-life politics, race and religion should NOT belong in videogames. As for the rest, GREAT game.

- Gears of War: E-Day is a brilliant addition to the Gears of War franchise. The story does an excellent job of bridging a gap between the Gears world before the locust invasion and after. The character development is excellent, and you can’t help but feel for the members of Bravo Squad and some of the supporting characters you encounter along the way. The gunplay is as solid as ever and the added weapon and armour mods help make us feel in more control of the outcomes. E-Day is not without it’s issues. There were drops to the dashboard, really stupid CPU-controlled Bravo Squad members, and some cheap deaths along the way. I also had a difficult time enjoying the versus mode as there wasn’t a deathmatch-only playlist. The objective modes just aren’t that fun. Overall, Gears of War: E-Day is an excellent shooter that will be an absolute blast to play alongside friends.
- The legendary cover-based shooter returns with what might be its swan song; while it exhibits all the genre's flaws, it nonetheless delivers a solid, visually stunning military sci-fi experience—one that is perhaps longer than it should be, yet somehow you end up forgiving it. However, if you are expecting a major evolution or simply don't enjoy shooting from behind cover, steer clear.
- Gears of War: E-Day is a powerful package of campaign and multiplayer. The single-player (and co-op-enabled!) story stands up to the best in the series with heavy doses of both heart and horror, a delightfully vicious complement of modifiable weapons, and a whole bunch of gorgeous setpieces to battle through. A razor-sharp – if shotgun-tastic – Versus mode and an evolved Horde Siege mode are also fully equipped to keep you and your friends having a ton of PvE fun deep into the night. Together, the latest in this long-running cover shooter series is one of my favorite games of the year, and dare I say one of the best as well.
