Criticism
- Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition hereby earns an overwhelmingly negative reviews because of a botched remaster process, aggressive business practices, and severe technical downgrades. And why would I bother to write an original review when I can just use AI slop like they did?

Praise
- Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition is something I’m absolutely thrilled to have in my life. I looked at it with rose-coloured sake glasses, and it did not disappoint. This is every bit the experience I recall from half a lifetime ago, with a new coat of ukiyo-e paint. The new visuals are absolutely stunning and bring one of the Total War franchise’s quintessential titles into modernity. I like to think I am a master of the new tactical features, but I fear that is far from the truth. This is a great “Complete Edition” for fans and newcomers alike.
- The new edition corrects high-resolution interface issues, modernizes controls, adds the option to adjust settings in the Divided Kingdom, and includes important current graphical features. Total War: SHOGUN 2 - Complete Edition makes it easy to return to one of the best campaigns in the series.
- Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition is an accessible and modern experience that draws new players into the struggle to unify Japan for the first time, while allowing longtime fans to rediscover this beloved game. Those approaching Creative Assembly’s title for the first time can experience that entire historical period from start to finish, from the rise of the samurai to their fall, thanks to the inclusion of the Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai expansions. Veterans, on the other hand, will find a game with restored graphics and many quality-of-life improvements to the gameplay. Total War: Shogun 2 remains a masterpiece of the strategy genre to this day, and this new Complete Edition gives us yet another excuse to fight for the shogunate.
