Praise
- Digital Eclipse haven't used the word "remaster" to describe Toy Story 3: Complete Edition, but given how good it looks and plays, it probably should have. But maybe that's testament to how good Avalanche Software's original game was; one of the best platforming-adventure games of its time, I'm so glad Toy Story 3 has been given another chance to shine.
- Toy Story 3 Complete Edition marks the return of an interesting platforming adventure. Although it offers hardly any new content, it’s a great opportunity to experience the game.
- Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is a pleasant surprise that recaptures the golden age of movie-based games. Although the Story Mode is short and suffers from some unevenness in level pacing and control precision, the title truly shines in the rich Toy Box Mode, offering sandbox-style freedom packed with activities and customization options. Ultimately, the Complete Edition establishes itself as the definitive version of an absolute classic-an excellent recommendation for children and a nostalgic journey for longtime fans.
Criticism
- Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is a fantastic new way to experience one of the most underrated games from the 2000s. The gameplay of both the story mode and Toy Box still holds up after sixteen years, as does its unique approach to adapting the 2010 film. While the lack of any additional behind the scenes or quality-of-life features is a tad frustrating, the overall quality of the original game is more than enough to justify the price point for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
