  • A lot of fun, I think I played this somewhere in a Next Fest, and it has been on my wishlist so long. Even if you've never played GoldenEye, it's a very fun way to get to know FPS in this way of playing. The game is a tad easy on the difficulty, but you still feel like a pro spy at all moments.

  • Agent 64 delivers solid nostalgia for classic N64 FPS fans, but fails to evolve past its influences. Core action and level design feel nostalgic, capturing GoldenEye 007 atmosphere through retro visuals and gunplay. However, mission structure bogs down experience fast. Levels run too long without checkpoints or armor pickups, punishing small mistakes and forcing full restarts. Inconsistent enemy AI, extreme melee damage, and annoying objectives make campaign feel tedious rather than rewarding. Locking progression behind challenge levels drags out momentum further. Core mechanics get boring after two hours because title clings too tightly to archaic 90s design quirks instead of modernizing movement and balancing. Fun in short bursts for diehard N64 purists, but drags for average player.

  • Unfortunately, the emotions evoked by this little love letter to the Nintendo 64 era, with obvious references to classic titles like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, aren't enough to make it a masterpiece. The game itself works, but the ideas aren't always spot on, and the length is truly excruciatingly short.
  • Agent 64: Spies Never Die looks, feels, and sounds like an old game on purpose. It brings modern FPS systems to the blocky graphics of the 90s, delivering a fresh and genuinely challenging experience for both nostalgic and new players. Like all great shooters, it's easy to learn, hard to master, quick to play, and fun to play with friends. As a loving ode to the spy genre, it tells a perfectly paced and timeless spy story that anyone can enjoy. Although some old-school mechanics deliberately adapted for nostalgic effect can feel dated, those who love the FPS genre but missed the N64 era will find this retro experience charming and novel.

  • Overall, this game was a nice surprise. I expected it to be boring after 1-2 levels, making it really repetitive. Instead, I got a nice, well-layered story with some smaller twists. The level designs make this game much more enjoyable, but it’s not its only strong point. The weapon variety is another strong part. The ally system and control variety are all interesting ideas. Also making the players replay levels for additional hidden content, like the masks is a great way to earn replay value. Paradox Mode adds a nice way to change the flow of the game making it more chaotic, but enjoyable. I think this game is definitely worth playing.
